MGMT - O2 ABC, Glasgow

On the 12th of October MGMT played the O2 ABC in Glasgow, as part of their short UK part of their tour.

Fans were waiting outside the venue from 10am. It was a sell out show. The doors opened at seven and everyone piled into the venue but the stage wasn't ready yet so everyone waited patiently and as soon as the barrier got taken away everyone ran straight to the front, ready for the show to begin.

The support band Guards were really good, MGMT had taken them all the way from the US and even though it was only a supporting slot the band played as if it was one of their own shows.
Then MGMT came on, they played both new songs and old songs and the audience was really up for it. "HERE WE, HERE WE, HERE WE FUCKING GO" was being shouted by most of the crowd loudly at multiple times during the set, everyone seemed happy and they were dancing to the music.

The visuals for the show were really well done, there was lots of colour and something different going on at almost every moment.

At the end of the gig I managed find a setlist which a tech guy threw into the audience but no one picked it up and after the show I managed to get it signed by Will and James from MGMT.

All these things made the show fantastic, and I would definitely recommend going to an MGMT show and I hope to see them again when they next tour.
